2010 SAW THE LARGEST CROWDS TO DATE TO SEE THE LIGHTS on 34th Street!!!
Well another year on 34th Street has come and gone and we would like to thank the thousands of visitors that stopped by to look at the lights. I receive a number of emails inquiring about parking. People have to remember this is neighborhood street and the lights are displayed by homeowners with no assistance or support from the City of Baltimore, BGE, or any other financing. The home owners pay out of their pockets for what you see and enjoy. There is no public parking, tour guides, etc. My recommendation is to come down early, park on the "Avenue" and spend the afternoon/evening at some of the great establishments in Hampden and then walk down and take in the lights. If you cannot do that because of seniors or handicapped folks then you can try to find spots in and around the area. Most of the time it is not to long a wait until a spot opens up.
Have a Great Year and See You the Saturday after Thanksgiving for the Grand Lighting!!!
Special Note from the 34th Street Residents
It has come to our attention that there are people posing as residents of 34th Street soliciting for money to pay our electric bills. Let us tell you that they are NOT residents of the street and in no way are we asking for any donations. Putting up these lights is truly a labor of love and we do not receive any cash donations and BGE does NOT give us a break on our electric bills, we pay ours just like you. So if you see or hear anyone asking for donations please ignore them as it is not anyone on our street. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas from the residents of 34th Street. |
